Synthesis: The New Bottleneck¶

AI agents made us much, much faster at creating. Now organising and absorbing that output is the bottleneck.
We've been building with Claude Code for the past few months. The productivity gains are real – code, documentation, presentations, reports all generated at AI speed.
But then we hit a new problem: absorption.
Creating 8,000+ files in 11 days is great. Finding the right file when you need it? Still takes 15 minutes of searching through repositories, Google Drive, Slack, Downloads folders.
The bottleneck shifted from creation to organisation.
So we started experimenting with Synthesis – a local-first index that treats all knowledge equally. Code files, markdown docs, PDFs, videos. Search in under a second. See relationships ("what breaks if I change this?"). Generate architecture graphs from actual code, not stale diagrams.
This week we added MCP Server, local media processing: transcribe audio, OCR images, extract text from scanned PDFs. All on your machine, no cloud required.
Still experimental. Still learning what works. But the pattern is clear: when AI accelerates creation, you need infrastructure to handle absorption.

Moving the needle from 15 minutes of searching to sub-second retrieval is where the actual productivity gains finally show up on the bottom line.: Moving the needle from 15 minutes of searching to sub-second retrieval is where the actual productivity gains finally show up on the bottom line.
Totto ↩: Exactly, Bobby Tjia! And it's not just me drowning in output - it's everyone around me.
I'm generating code, docs, presentations, reports at AI speed. Then sending it to colleagues (our CEO, teammates) who have to absorb it at human speed.
"Can you have a look at this?" → Houndreds of files to search through. "Where's the architecture diagram?" Lost in 100+ commits.

Thor Henning Hetland: Thor Henning Hetland , aren´t you wasting valuable Claude context by using the MCP ? (it fills context even if not used)
loved the part saying: pattern is clear: when AI accelerates creation, you need infrastructure to handle absorption. we also found that the bottleneck is the people capacity to absorb the information/understanding. : loved the part saying: pattern is clear: when AI accelerates creation, you need infrastructure to handle absorption. we also found that the bottleneck is the people capacity to absorb the information/understanding.
yeah, the "software developer" job is changing a lot ... we are also trying our best with gluecharm.com let me know we can try Synthesis because sounds interesting at least. : yeah, the "software developer" job is changing a lot ... we are also trying our best with gluecharm.com let me know we can try Synthesis because sounds interesting at least.
Totto ↩: Xesca Alabart 🌈 I'll produce a pilot distribution to you in a DM, ok?
